Ingredients:
- 4 large eggs
- Water
Instructions:
Place the eggs in a saucepan and add enough water to cover them by about an inch
Put the saucepan on the stove over medium-high heat and bring the water to a boil
Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to low and let the eggs simmer for 4-5 minutes for a runny yolk or 7-8 minutes for a slightly firmer yolk
While the eggs are simmering, prepare a bowl of ice water
After the desired cooking time, use a slotted spoon to carefully transfer the eggs to the bowl of ice water to cool rapidly and stop the cooking process
Let the eggs sit in the ice water for about 2 minutes to ensure they are fully cooled
Gently tap the eggs on a hard surface to crack the shell, then peel and serve
